Book Funk

Its shameful, I know, but I'm in a book funk. I haven't read anything new in some time. But, hooray! My friend loaned me a copy of "Alcatraz vs. the Evil Librarians". The title is fun, the possibilities are endless and the first chapter doesn't disappoint. The only problem is that I'll have this book read by dinner time, it being intended more for children than adults. Any other suggestions? I'm heading to Barnes and Noble tonight...

    Elantris is a good one if you are in the mood for the fantastic. Ranger's Apprentice is always fun by John Flanagan...LOVE those books.

    Have you read any Shannon Hale? Goose Girl was good. I loved Austenland the most.

    Sophie Consella is hilarious with the Shopaholic Books. (some swearing...but its mostly internal thought and how often do we swear in our heads? I mean really you can't hold it against her.)

    Aprilynne Pike's 2nd book is out Spells...Can't wait to read that one.

    Okay that's all I got right at the moment.

    The first 3 Alcatraz books are out, so if you want to keep up with them, you could do them today. Elantris and Warbreaker are both really entertaining.

    Also, if you haven't read "Here There Be Dragons" by James Owen, shame on you. :-)

    Is Warbreaker a stand-alone? I keep hearing that title. And I think I've heard you mention "Here There Be Dragons" before, Graham. I should check that one out.

    Donna, I may be ready to pick up a copy of Ranger's Apprentice. If I find a copy tonight then I'll try to find it in my budget to get it. :)

    You might like johnathan twelve hawks's the traveler. Dystopian that feels like it could be happening right now. I'm reading The Sword-edged Blonde right now and it is hilarious. Gumshoe detective meets fantasy. Brilliant.

    I'm there with ya on the book funk. They are kinda like food--nothing really sounds good right now. (I've been loving Georgette Heyer, but I think I may have finally exhausted Donna's collection--I LOVED The Talisman Ring. Hilarious.)
