NaNo Day 4: Trunk Slamchest!

I know it's Sunday, so most of us aren't working on our current WiPs, so here's what I would like to know:

1) What are you writing on your "day off?"

2) What's your total word count for NaNoWriMo as of today?

3) Are you having any trouble with your current WiP? If you are, let us know in the comments!

Keep at it, you guys. We're only 4 days in. Even if you're a little bit behind where you wanted to be, you can still make progress.

  1. 1) I'm scripting a blog comic that will run in December. I meant to run it last year but work killed me.

    2) 6461

    3) I outlined the whole book, only to find a fundamental problem with my characters' motivation. I still have scenes to write, but I imagine tomorrow will be spent doing adjustments to the outline first. Ugh.

  2. I went back to read over and clean up chap 1 and 2.

I'm working on immediacy. Making sure every action has a catalyst and good motivation. And not being too verbose.

  3. 1) I started my Life History. I mainly worked on my timeline. It was fun to count back to try to remember years.

    2) Do I include the non-WIP I did yesterday? If not, see day 3. (I'm on different computer)

    3) I'm trying really hard to NOT think about problems and just keep writing. When this WIP is done, it will need MAJOR editing, but I can't get hung up on that now or it with NEVER get done. :)

  4. I did some journaling and did a little outlining and character building.

In my current WiP I was having problems with my characters being to reactive and not proactive enough. Hence the outlining :)

  5. I did some thinking about the evolution of the current scene I'm working on.

Too early for this one, but trying to learn from my last story and have less of a narrator voice for my main character, using first person present tense to get the reader more in her head.

  6. DJ--stuff you write for you personal history can count toward your NaNo total. Sorry if I didn't clarify that.
