Have you ever had a week where the only thing that saved you from getting trampled by a herd of stampeding "blech" was a really good meal? Well, it's been one of those weeks for me. And luckily, today I had some chicken and shrimp carbonara, with some really yummy soup and breadsticks. This meal SAVED ME this week. Thank heaven for spicy, flavorful food that turns a black-and-white week into a technocolor dream week.
I have to thank the person responsible for this good food: Alison, our departing intern, who has been double-triple-quadruple amazing. We're going to miss her as she moves on to her next big internship on the path to stardom in the publishing world.

I'm a dessert woman myself. Nothing quite like some delicious sweetness to make my day. In fact, anyone got a brownie?
ReplyDeleteThe answer is YES!! I have totally had those weeks and months etc. A really great meal can make life seem a little easier to handle sometimes. I am so with you on that one. And Debbie desert goes under plain necessity for me. Arlene's "You Don't Even Know How Special You Are" Chocolate Cake has actually saved my life before...its kind of like oxygen...you can't live without it. I just don't know how those who haven't had it are still breathing honestly.
ReplyDeleteIce cream is my preferred comfort food. I found a new brand this week called Lovin' Scoopful. We tried the Cake and Cookie Dough and it was delish - even with 1/2 the fat!
ReplyDeleteSorry to post late to this, Guys. My whole focus is usually food, so I'm with Kirk on a really great meal. In fact, Scott and I just went to the Texas Roadhouse and I had some really awesome steak smothered in mushrooms and onions. Feel the love, People! And I'm head to the Chocolate Bar tonight to hang with the girls and then we're off to see Julie&Julia. I'll post on Tuesday to let you all know how it goes. ;)
