Books I've Read Recently

Obviously, if you've been following along, you know I read Mocking Jay a while back. I also read Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson. In fact, I just finished that one a couple of days ago. And, now I'm bringing it down with a little Elizabeth Gaskell. She wrote a delightful little novel called "North and South" in the mid 1800's. It was made into a BBC movie which came out in 2004. I've seen the movie and now I'm reading the book. I'm pretty sure I won't be disappointed. :) What have you all been reading lately?

  1. I'm most of the way through "Way of Kings" and it's pretty crazy. Thank goodness for the audiobook,eh? I'm also reading "The Girl Who Could Fly." Good narration so far.

  2. I'm reading Little House in the Big Woods. I love the simplicity and magic she creates. She makes it seem so appealing to live in a one room cabin and be totally self-sufficient.

  3. I just finished the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare and read Clockwork Angel as well which is a sort of prequel to the trilogy and will be a trilogy as well and now I am just peeved that I bothered reading book one before the rest were in print. Clockwork is terrible at tying up loose ends. It feels like it ended mid chapter and now I'm just hanging for a few years with a ton of unanswered questions. grrrr.

I also am reading The Iron King by someone I can't remember. Its cute and I think its trying to be dark but its not really.

  4. I'm just starting Far From the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy. I was curious because, as you know, I loved the Hunger Games series and Suzanne Collins said Katniss was inspired by the character of Bathsheba Everdine.

  5. I had no idea, Linda. Now I'm curious about it. You'll have to let me know how it was once you've finished it.
