Sad Headline

I saw this article yesterday and it made me very sad. I understand why they're asking the question, but it still made me sad.

It also made me think of Mildred Montag in Farenheit 451. Maybe I'm just feeling dramatic today, but I hope we're not headed in that direction.

    That is a sad headline. I sometimes get very frustrated when dealing with education that art is not considered a priority. I love the humanities. They expand the mind and allow it to think broader in all aspects of life.

    My favorite part of F. 451 is the line at the begining: If someone gives you lined paper, write the other way. Steve loves the book (no surprise there with all the fireman running around). His email even has 451 in it.

    I don't think the article really hit a stride that compliments such a bold (and shock-baiting) headline.

    It's a stupid question meant to turn heads in the middle of a groundswell of popular literature. Getting published is harder and more competitive than ever; more people want to write, and more people are reading.

    Maybe the columnist's target audience just isn't that bright?
