Coming Home and Author Dinners

I am home in Reno, as most of you already know, and there are a few things I'd forgotten since being away. Here they are:

a.) My dog is about twice as big as I remember.

b.) My kids are incredibly loud in the confines of our own home.

c.) It's possible to survive on pizza and Sam's Club rotisserie chicken for long periods of time, as demonstrated by my husband.

d.) I don't know how I used to write with my kids swirling around me the entire time.

e.) I like to cook.

f.) I am lazy.

g.) Vacations are not very relaxing.

h.) I watch A LOT of TV.

A quick note about our last author dinner. I loved meeting Tristi Pinkston! I got to sit next to her and hear her wonderful stories about perservering in the field of writing and publishing. She's had a hand in starting a new publishing company called Valor (very exciting) and I wish her the best of luck. Thanks for a great evening, Tristi!

  2. You forgot all the cool stuff about being home:
Your own bed to sleep in.
    Good chocolate in the pantry.
    Dot is there.
    School starts soon.
Full sized shampoo and conditioner in the shower.

And recovery is not the same thing as laziness. For one thing its timed. You get two more days to 'recover' and then you have to run again. Fie on Laziness.
    Miss ya.

  3. Miss you, too! And I'll take the recovery time. Thanks! Also, it's completely your fault for keeping me up until 1:30am the night before I was supposed to drive home. Seriously though, Australia was AWESOME!

  4. The job of mom doesn't allow for laziness, sorry, I don't buy it.

I'll agree with you that meeting Tristi was awesome! There is one quality individual.

Mostly, I miss you too! Can't wait to have you out again.

  5. It was so nice to finally meet you for real, Tarty one.

I'm in agreement with Seinfeld - we're all eager to get out and then when we're out it becomes, we gotta get home!

I'm already preparing myself to be totally exhuasted following our vacation to California.
