Arson, Nick and Old Lace

I am a fairly immature person. I laugh too loud, talk too much, and even find the occasional body function amusing. Considering these circumstances, it is rare for me to be in a situation where I feel "old". However, I had one such experience Saturday at the Stadium of Fire in Provo, UT, where the Jonas Brother performed.

Don't know who the Jonas Brothers are? They are a Disney boy band who attract fans with smoldering looks and casual hair flips.

I found myself surrounded by young girls who screamed, shouted phrases like, "I love you, Nick", and sang every word to every song that I had never even heard of. I also thought the kids performing, also known as the Jonas Brothers, would be pretty cute in ten years.
I suppose that means I might be maturing...but I wouldn't count on it.

  1. Just wanted to say that, being a teenage girl, I am a huge Jonas fan and, if I ever get the chance to attend one of their concerts, I would probably fit the description of the screaming girl shouting "I love you, Nick!" (Nick is my favorite Jo Bro) and singing along to nearly every song they play. I don't know all of their songs by heart, but I know enough to get by!

  2. If only you would have been in Utah, Magenta. I actually had an extra ticket that went to waste.

  3. I think it's great the Jo Bros publicly promote chastity before marriage (something very rare in pop culture these days and something they get routinely persecuted for). And, their songs are pretty catchy.

Deb, I did not feel old until moving to Eagle Mountain, where the median age is 13.

  4. Just one a put a plug in here that age and maturity are not the same thing. It is entirely possible to be too old for the Jo Bros and still relatively immature in that body functions are still funny. I'm just sayin...

  5. Sometimes it is so nice to be immature. I'm the fun aunt at the reunion and it's got some perks. I've got an 8 year old boys tears on my shoulder, I got to sing songs to a toddler with baby soft skin, I got to wipe a bum of another toddler who wanted me to watch him poop, and I got to play silly games in the pool with preschoolers. Plus I got to play lame card games with teenagers. Immaturity has its perks. While all the other aunts were attending to naps and cleaning house I was playing and spending quality time with my neices and nephews ... time that there just isn't enough of.
